Students are having fun learning Flash and how to action script. We are in the beginning stages of this creative technology. Students are amazed at how there are so many thing that can be done in flash. As we get further a long in the class I feel that some students will find some of the skills learned difficult. Flash is a complex program and requires much attention. Can my sixth graders handle the time and attention it is going to take to master FLASH, only time will tell.

Pay Attention

Children are mere living computers, giving and in taking information. What type of imprints as teachers are we leaving with the students we teach? Are we leaving impressions of knowledge and wisdom and our students will be able to allow this information to produce roots and grow? Children are ever changing in their adolescent years and what they learn now is crucial to their development in the future. As educators are we just going through the motions of teaching doing the same routine day in and day out? What is the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting change. Are we as educators going insane? What are we doing to ensure our students are ready to become apart of a world that is surpassing "America" when it comes to education. We must strive to fill our students with excitement and drive to want to learn and succeed. There is no excuse as educators to fail our students. In reality we are failing ourselves.

The First Six Weeks in Globaloria

My students have learned so much the first six weeks of school. They have learned how to create a G-Mail account, how to create a Wiki page, and create a Blog Page. Not only did my students learn all of these concepts of technology they also learned how to customize all of these pages by adding text color, adding videos, adding pictures, and adding images from other websites. I am so proud of all of my students. I must admit I wasn't sure if sixth graders could or would understand these concepts, I thought it would be to hard for them, but boy was I wrong. My students learned all the concepts of the first six weeks curriculum and taught me a thing or to. Way to go EACPA Tigers. Lets remember to stay focused and work hard. The next six weeks we are really going to get even technical and learn even more fun techniques. I am counting on all of you to make the second six weeks a success.

This class has been one full of exciting challenges each student has learned how to create their own blog pages and how to post their first blog. Many of the students had never even heard of blogging so the challenge was getting them to understand the concept and how blogging is a form of communication that is used by millions. The East Side Tigers are a group of students that really work hard and are eager to learn.

Many school are beginning to implement information technology to the classrooms. Students are young as six years old are learning how to e-mail , down load and research on the computers. The ECF (Early Childhood Foundation) implemented a project that allowed preschool students to have computer access and educated then on the basics of the computer and then allowed them to create stories using creative writing and allowing them to use their imagination. These preschool students reading scores went from 57 percent to 90 percent in ten years all of these students were reading and writing at or above grade level. So is it ever not a time to begin to educate students, is one, two, and three years old to young? Many say it starts in the womb.
